Has the company you work for been affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic and now requires you to work from home? If yes, maybe we can help keep your ” Work Life Balance”. Many companies have been able to keep their businesses open and operating by having employee’s work remotely. Making the adjustment can be hard for some but it can be done, I mean, look at you, you are doing it! While we are all doing our best to adjust it’s hard to keep that work life balance, as for many of us we don’t want to bring “work” into our home, our little getaway from a busy day of hustle and bustle. So, we wanted to help you try to keep your work life balance!

Let’s start from the beginning, when you were going to work you had a routine, it may have looked something like this; Get up,  shower, get dressed and have your morning cup of coffee or you put it in a tumbler because you’re running late, (we’ve all had those days). Well, we understand, we are in this together and we know exactly what you are going through! The first couple days at home you may have found yourself waking up at the same time as of when you were going into work, but as time went on you slept in a little longer because your commute was to your home office, the kitchen counter or hey, even setting up your office in bed!

Now that we are a couple months into the pandemic and most are still working from home, you may be feeling a bit lonely, unmotivated, or just missing your commute because you get to leave the house for a bit. Well, we have put together a list of things that can help you keep your “work life balance” and help you stay focused, refreshed, and productive throughout the workday, check it out!

·       Creating a workstation at home

o   Try to create a station way from where you spend most of your time

o   Near a window, so you can see outside and don’t feel locked inside

o   Make it comfortable for you

·       Ask your employer if you can bring home your desk chair, desk or computer monitor if it helps you work better.

·       Get dressed! (Business on the top, lounge on the bottom)

o   Get out of your pajamas!

·       Create a commute!

o   Even its just in the other room, creating a commute will help you get in the routine of “going to work”.

·       Take your lunch break

o   Do not eat at your desk!

o   Enjoy the outdoors, enjoy the breeze and the sunshine!

o   Take a walk around the neighborhood (social distance of course and wear a mask when around others)

o   Do a 30 min yoga session/ Bike ride/ go for a run

·       Snacking

o   Make sure to drink plenty of water

o   Make a smoothie to help boost your energy if you are feeling sluggish

o   Eat your colors (fruits, veggies, nuts!)

·       Listen to music

o   Put on your favorite tracks and set the tone for the workday

·       Log off!

o   Clock out and enjoy the rest of the day away from your home office!

We hope this helps you adjust and create a better work environment at home! We are all in this together and we sure want to help everyone continue to have a work life balance!
