From our previous blog post, Life as we know it – we are all waiting for updates from Myturn.ca.gov to see when we can schedule our COVID Vaccine appointment. Some may have already had the opportunity to schedule and/or receive the vaccine! As of March 1, 2021, the CDC Report has stated 51, 755. 447 Americans have received the first dose and 26,162,122 have received the second dose (CDC, 2021). As we try to fight the pandemic together many counties have begun to allow schools to submit strategic action plans to reopen their classrooms that will ensure the safety of their students. Among, the schools and restaurants making their way back from a very tough year in 2020, some theme parks have announced they will be reopening as early as Spring 2021. Depending on your location, we highly recommend checking your local news for updates, as these changes vary by locations. COVID cases will be monitored closely and adjustments to closures and reopening’s will be decided on the number of cases, as we have seen in the past.
To be on the right path and doing our part for our communities, it is strongly encouraged everyone continue to MASK UP, SOCIAL DISTANCE, AVOID LARGE GATHERINGS, STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK, and WASH YOUR HANDS. We must also continue to get COVID test as needed, people who are experiencing any COVID related symptoms should be tested and follow instructions based on the results given.
Based on the vaccine administration and COVID cases decreasing you may find, there are more activities for you and your family to enjoy. If you would like to track how the cases are in your area you can use the CDC COVID Data Tracker which allows you to filter out your communities and see what the cases look like in your area. Using this tool will hopefully put your mind at ease to go out with your family and enjoy the outdoors, safely. Any activity when outdoors is still encouraged to wear a mask, social distance and wash your hands for your safety.
If you are looking for outdoor activities to enjoy with your family, you can try:

Taking a day trip to the beach, soak up the sun!
Plan a family picnic at the park!
