Have you heard the news? As we are gearing up to reopen at full capacity by June 15th, we wanted to make sure you are still informed of all things COVID-related and how to take proper precautions while you are out enjoying some summer activities. If you have been following our blog you will see that in our past blogs we had introduced Myturn.ca.gov. MyTurn.ca.gov is a site used to keep track of who and when the public can receive the vaccine. Many have been using this link to stay informed along with other methods such as media outlets, employers, Radio ads, etc.
If you have not been informed and are still curious to know when you will be able to receive the vaccine feel free to check the link out. Once you click on the link you can begin to complete the required questions. Once the site determines your eligibility, you will be prompted to another page that will help you find a vaccination site near your location. Once that section is completed you will be then directed to another page that will bring a list of vaccination sites, although these sites are listed you will have to make sure they have availability. Do not worry, there are plenty of vaccine sites and may have appointments available – be patient and see what location and times work for you!
Per Los Angeles County, as of April 15, 2021, “all individuals age 16 or older will be able to receive the vaccine.” As supply for the vaccine continues to be limited we highly advise using myturn.ca.gov to find vaccination sites near you and make an appointment. If you would like more information on the vaccine and COVID-19 you can visit the link provided: LA County Public Health COVID information.
If you have already been vaccinated, great! Things to keep in mind and continue to practice; social distance, wear a mask, wash your hands/ use hand sanitizer. We are all excited to see and hear that some of our favorite places are opening up again, but if the pandemic has taught us one thing is to take care of our health first. So, the question, I am already vaccinated what more can I do? Protect yourself and your loved ones. Yes, even though you are vaccinated continue to wear the mask properly (over the nose, mouth, and under the chin). Wash your hands, we touch so many surfaces and without giving it any thought we touch our faces, our phones, our wallets, germs spread quickly and we can not 100% trust another person to watch out for us. For example, I was at a grocery store social distancing for employees and other shoppers but when it came to checking out, I noticed the checkout stations were no longer being wiped down after every customer like before. Things like this happen and for your safety carry hand sanitizer in your bag or your car, should this happen to you. We still have to be careful! Social distancing, social distancing has been one of the easier things to do as you can still enjoy everyday activities and a lot of stores have guides on the floor to help you keep a safe distance from others.
What is the takeaway from today’s blog?
Make an appointment to get vaccinated, Mask up, Social Distance, Wash your hands, and enjoy the reopening safely!
