Holidays are here and that may bring the typical holiday stress. This year Holidays have been celebrated slightly different from the past years given the pandemic we are currently in. Many states and counties have issued stay at home orders or put restrictions on the local communities. As we all try to do our part and keep the number of cases low, during the recent holiday, Thanksgiving, we had seen a number of COVID cases increase. In California specifically, a stay-at-home order and curfew of 10pm has been put in place for 3 weeks starting Sunday, December 6th at 11:59pm due to the growing number of COVID cases. Although the stay-at-home order is in place there some businesses remain open under certain restrictions.

How do we celebrate the holidays with friends and family this year with stay-at-home orders or restrictions in place? Well, luckily Christmas is a time where we can enjoy the holiday during the night! How you may ask? Here is a list of this you can do and probably have been doing for years!

            Christmas lights

There are some neighborhoods that have a blocks of decorated houses that you and your family can enjoy                            from your car. IF you wanted to do this with extended family you all can do this together but have each                                    household in their own car.

             POP Up Drive-in

                   –   Lately, there have been many Christmas pop up drive-in’s that your family can enjoy from the comfort of your                           car.

                   –  Drive in Movie theatre that are showing Christmas movies all December long

                   – Theme parks have converted the park into a drive in Light show

                   – Taking a trip to the snow

                            – Being outdoors is a create way to enjoy time with your family and you are also able to keep your distance                                from others as well! Grab your sled and hot coco, maybe have a snowball fight, or see who can build a                                      snowman!

You can find many local activities in your community just by looking up things to do in your area or going to your community Facebook page!

Even though gathering with extended family this holiday season may not be in the books, you can still enjoy them by calling them or through zoom/ facetime. While we all get through this together try to make this holiday one to remember. Show off the cooking or baking skills, decorate gingerbread houses with the family, watch Christmas movies and sing Christmas carols by the fireplace!

We hope you have a great holiday season!
